Getting started
This page walks you from an invitation (or a new organisation) to your first message: signing in, setting up your account, and the screens you will use every day.
Ways in
| You have… | Go to | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| An invitation email | The link in the email (/register, your address already filled in) | You create your account in that organisation, or choose Accept with an existing account if you already have one. |
| Nothing yet, and want your own organisation | Start an organisation (/signup) | Creates an organisation and your account in it. Already have an account? Use its email and password and the new organisation is added to it. |
| An organisation that lets people register | Join this organisation on its sign-in page (/register) | Creates your account in that organisation. |
| A temporary password from your administrator | /login, then /setup | You are asked for your email address and your own password before you continue. |
| An account | Sign in (/login) | Password, passkey or your organisation's single sign-on. |

- Open your organisation's address and choose Sign in.
- Sign in with your email address or username and your password, a passkey, or the Continue with … button of your organisation's single sign-on.
- If you turned on a second factor, enter the code from your authenticator app.
- If your account belongs to more than one organisation, pick the one to open. You can switch later from the organisation name at the top of the sidebar.
Accept an invitation
- Open the link in the invitation email. It opens Create your … account with your address already filled in.
- Choose a name, username and password, accept the terms and Create account.
- Already have an account (for example from another organisation)? Choose Accept with an existing account and sign in; the invitation is accepted and you are switched to the new organisation.
- You land in the organisation's first room.
If the page says the invitation has expired, was withdrawn or was already used, ask whoever sent it for a new one.

Forgot your password
- On the sign-in page choose Forgotten your password?. In the phone app, it opens this page in your browser.
- Enter the address you sign in with. A link arrives by email.
- The link opens Choose a new password. The old password stops working immediately, and every other device is signed out. The link works once and expires after two hours.
Still signed in and only want a different password? Use Your account → Security → Password; see Your account and settings.
Other links you may receive
- Verify your email (
/verify-email) — confirms the address on a new account. - Confirm your new sign-in address (
/confirm-email-change) — your organisation's owner asked to change the address you sign in with. Nothing changes until you confirm. - Passkey for the app (
/passkey) — the desktop or phone app opened your browser to use a passkey. Confirm, and the browser hands you back to the app. - Switch account (
/switch) — moves this browser to another account or organisation you belong to.
Your first five minutes
- Set your profile — bottom of the sidebar → Your account → Profile: photo, display name, title.
- Secure your account — Your account → Security: add a passkey and a second factor.
- Choose your notifications — Your account → Notifications.
- Pin your apps — open All apps in the sidebar and pin the ones you use. See Finding your way around.
- Say hello — open Chat, pick a channel and write. See Chat.

The screens you will use every day
- Activity — mentions and notices waiting for you.
- Chat — channels, direct messages and threads.
- Today — your day assembled from calendar, time, tasks and absences. See Today.
- ⌘K (Ctrl+K) — search everything and jump to any page.
Roles
Anybody with an account can sign in, chat, call and use Today. Every other app appears once the organisation installed it and somebody gave you a role in it. A guest sees only the rooms and calls they were invited to.
Tips
- Keep one account for every organisation you work with: the same sign-in reaches all of them.
- The desktop and phone apps use the same account. Passkeys work there too.
Welcome to the Enclessa documentation
How to use Enclessa — chat, calls and the modules your organisation installs
Finding your way around
Enclessa is one window with one sidebar. Everything that takes you somewhere lives in that sidebar or in the search palette (⌘K / Ctrl+K). This page explains both, and how the settings and administration of every module are reached.
